About me

I am a concert pianist, teacher, ABRSM examiner and adjudicator living in the New Forest in Hampshire. Originally from Los Angeles, California, I became a musician of international reputation after making my concerto debut at the age of eleven. I moved to the UK in 1984 and continued my education at the Royal College of Music, where I studied with other pianists of repute including Miles Coverdale, John Barstow, Frank Wibaut and Maria Curcio.  

I have taken part in and won numerous prizes in national and international piano competitions, including the Royal College of Music Foundation Scholarship, the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition, the International Piano Recording Competition and many more.

I have toured extensively as a classical concert pianist across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Asia, South America and Australia where I performed solo recitals and lecture recitals and played as a soloist with many orchestras including London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a concert pianist, I am a specialist in classical piano music although more recently I have also developed an interest in other more popular styles of music including jazz and stride. A few years ago I produced my own high energy piano variety show, which I have performed on many of the world’s major cruise lines.

A piano teacher in Hampshire

Nowadays, I enjoy a quieter life and I travel less frequently. I spend most of my time teaching at my home in the New Forest, adjudicating music festivals and examining for ABRSM. I am also a Steinway artist and I have recorded two CDs - Piano Classics and Jeannette Owens plays Chopin.
